The New Year has arrived and it’s time to continue our Virtual Travels.
Happy Thanksgiving to you from our family while we are living life and celebrating the holidays while living on the road.
For today’s post I decided to speed up the hands of time on this virtual road trip adventure – here is a post from our Travel Journal dated November 24, 2011
I suspect many of you have already begun or about to begin rushing around in order to prepare family favorites and traditional dishes for Thanksgiving. Gary and I did our rushing around yesterday. Not only did we move campgrounds which requires its own rushing around, but we also shopped for our Thanksgiving meal. After attempting to shop at several stores, I was beginning to wonder if we could find the fixings for any of our Thanksgiving favorites. Truth be told, after 7 full days of sightseeing (in D.C.) and not taking the time to shop for groceries, I was beginning to think we weren’t going to have any meal on Thanksgiving. Our refrigerator and cupboards are bare.
Gary and I have discovered that grocery shopping in a different store and in a different state every time you shop is quite an experience in itself. Needless to say, after several attempts, we do have a Thanksgiving meal planned for today with a few of our family’s favorite dishes.
As for the rest of the day, we intend to make it a relaxing and thankful day. We have so much to thankful for. I hope everyone enjoys Thanksgiving with their family – in fellowship, in feasting, and in gratitude.
